Fire Department responds to landing gear issue at airport

Coweta County Fire Department crews were on standby at the Newnan Coweta County Airport Sunday afternoon after a pilot reported problems with his landing gear. The plane landed safely.

The Coweta County Fire Department responded to the Newnan Coweta County Airport – Whitlock Field Sunday afternoon after a pilot radioed he was having a problem with his landing gear.

Fire department crews were on standby as the pilot did two passes in front of airport officials so that they could look at his landing gear, according to a witness. After the two passes, the pilot then landed the plane without incident.
