Bradley Hartsell and Hannah Latimer

The Newnan Times-Herald newsroom welcomed back staff writer Bradley Hartsell on Friday, following his severe car accident in April.

“It’s so great to be back in Newnan and to be able to work,” said Hartsell. “The city of Newnan has been tremendous in its support for Hannah and me, and we’re both extremely blessed to be able to return to our lives.”

Upon Hartsell’s return, NTH readers and community members utilized Facebook to voice their thoughts.

“So glad to hear that he is able to return to work!” wrote Geraldine Smith Welch.

“Welcome back,” wrote Dianne Overstreet Webb. “We missed your special touch! You had so many of us engulfing you in prayer.”

“As a recent survivor of a life threatening medical emergency who prayed for Jesus' touch upon Bradley, I hope he has the same renewed sense of purpose and understanding of God's hand in every moment of ours lives that I came away with,” wrote Lisa Sewell. “Things don't always turn out as we hope or plan but He is writing our story and specializes in making beauty from the ashes of the storms that blow through.” Hartsell and his girlfriend, Hannah Latimer, were in a car accident on I-85 in South Carolina while traveling to visit Hartsell’s family in Tennessee for Easter weekend.

Hartsell was driving when his vehicle collided suddenly with a Piercetown Fire Department rescue vehicle stopped on the side of the road. The rescue truck was helping with another accident.

Both he and Latimer were critically injured and transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

After being released from the hospital and rehabilitation facility, Hartsell stayed with his family in Tennessee for outpatient therapy.
