Georgia Hwy. 54 reopens Thursday

Georgia Highway 54 near Gordon Road in south Coweta County is expected to reopen to traffic Thursday, June 19.

The section of Hwy. 54 has been closed since April 21 for work by the Georgia Department of Transportation to raise the roadbed to eliminate a dangerous sight distance problem, said Coweta government spokesman Tom Corker.

Coweta County officials were notified of the planned reopening by GDOT officials.
