Naked woman mental patient

by Wes Mayer

A woman who was seen walking toward Newnan’s Court Square without any clothes on Thursday morning was treated by emergency medical units and transported to the hospital.

The woman was seen walking on Jackson Street toward the square, according to witnesses. After Coweta 911 was contacted, the call was turned over to Coweta EMS, who treated her. According to authorities, she was a mental patient asking to go to the hospital.

Thursday’s incident follows one on Wednesday, when a streaker was reported running on Ridley Road in northern Coweta toward U.S. Highway 29.

He was seen wearing a plain white baseball cap and was covering himself with his hands while running, according to a witness, Kathy Landers.

Landers said her husband, Doug, saw the man near Springdale Drive, and he ducked into the woods. Landers described the man as average height, with medium length brown or dark blond hair.

After Doug Landers reported the incident, he and his wife both went riding around the area to see if they could find the streaker.

Several deputies from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office responded, stopping cars and searching for the man.

Some residents reported they also saw a streaker in the area on Monday.

Deputies were unable to find the alleged north Coweta streaker but continue to investigate.
