Streaker spotted running in Palmetto area

Residents on Ridley Road in northern Coweta reported a naked man running toward U.S. 29 Tuesday.

The man was wearing a plain white baseball cap and was covering himself with his hand while running, according to Kathy Landers.

Landers said her husband, Doug, saw the man near Springdale Drive, and he ducked into the woods. Landers described the man as average height, with medium length brown or dark blond hair. He didn’t appear to be wearing shoes.

After Doug Landers reported the incident, he and his wife both went riding around the area to see if they could find the streaker.

“Doug saw him again at Springdale and Ridley,” Landers said. “[The streaker] saw Doug and went into the woods. Doug called out to him and asked him if he needed any pants, but he just looked back and kept running."

Several deputies from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office responded, stopping cars and searching for the man.

Some residents reported they also saw a streaker in the area on Monday.

Deputies were unable to find the alleged streaker but will continue to investigate.

One resident said the sheriff’s office told her the suspect may be a college student.
