Foreclosures for June lowest since 2005

by Sarah Fay Campbell

There were 47 foreclosure-related advertisements listed in Thursday’s Newnan Times-Herald.

That’s the lowest number since at least 2005. Numbers have been low for the past several months.

Four commercial properties are among those listed.

The Bruster’s Ice Cream/Nathan’s Hot Dogs property, owned by IC Real Estate Newnan LLC, is listed as being up for foreclosure, as is vacant property off Lower Fayetteville Road at Newnan Crossing Boulevard owned by Lower Fayetteville Ventures LLC.

Faith By Hearing Christian Center, located on Mayo Royal Industrial Boulevard, is also listed, as is property at 21 Jackson Street, owned by Avondale Jackson LLC. The historic Jackson Street home is a commercial property, and formerly housed both 34 Madison Design Studio and Gus’s Jackson Street Grill. The 21 Jackson Street property was previously advertised for foreclosure in May.

There was a total of 47 foreclosures, and one sheriff’s tax sale, listed for June.

All properties are set to be sold on the steps of the Coweta County Justice Center on Greenville Street on Tuesday, July 1. Not all properties will necessarily go up for sale July 1, as issues can be worked out before the sale date. In the majority of cases, the opening bid on a property is the money owed to the creditor, and a representative of the creditor will make the opening bid.
