Pregnancy Services fundraiser Thursday

by Wes Mayer

Coweta Pregnancy Services will be holding its annual fundraising gala at the Newnan Centre Thursday evening.

The event, the One Decision Fundraising Gala, is raising money through a silent auction, sponsored 10-person tables for $750 and by selling tickets for $75. The auction, which will last from 6 to 7 p.m., includes a wide variety of items such as Atlanta Braves tickets, gift cards to stores around Coweta County, signed University of Georgia and Georgia Tech merchandise and even a Steve Penley painting, said Cindy Hughes, director of Coweta Pregnancy Services.

The auction will be followed by a complimentary dinner and a program including testimonies from clients of Coweta Pregnancy Services, and presentations from special guests Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life America, State Senator Mike Crane and a performance from Crane’s daughter, Caitlin.

The funds raised at the gala will go directly to Coweta Pregnancy Services’ ministry.

The ministry performs around 800 pregnancy tests and 600 ultrasounds every year, Hughes said – last year, Coweta Pregnancy Services had a total of 1,563 visits to its clinic, and 75 clients chose to give life to their child. The ministry also provides parenting classes and teaches healthy relationship classes at the public schools in Coweta County.

Hughes said it is not too late to purchase tickets for the gala, and she suggests those who attend wear business or church attire.

Those interested in purchasing tickets or sponsoring a table have been asked to call 770-251-7158 or email cowetaps@gmail.com .
