The man suspected of killing a Newnan woman in Union City in early April was arrested by authorities in Atlanta late Monday.

Irwin Clint Dresbach, 32, was found at a hotel near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and he was taken into custody without incident, authorities with the U.S. Marshals Service told reporters with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Dresbach was booked into the Fulton County Jail on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Dresbach was suspected in the fatal shooting of Newnan woman Jennifer Ann Gatewood, 25, on April 5. Authorities responded around 4:30 a.m. to the Garden Inn and Suites on Shannon Parkway in Union City to find Gatewood had been fatally shot.

Authorities originally thought Dresbach had fled to South Carolina or Alabama, and his mother may have also been involved. His mother turned herself in to the Union City Police Department soon after the shooting and cooperated with authorities during the investigation. Authorities with the police department told reporters with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Dresbach’s mother will most likely not face any charges.

Dresbach and Gatewood were believed to be in a relationship. Gatewood was also mother to a 4-year-old son.
