One injured in early-morning accident

One motorist suffered from minor injuries and was transported to the hospital after colliding with another vehicle on Georgia Highway 85 near Senoia Wednesday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., Coweta authorities responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Ga. Highway 85 and Hardy Road north of Senoia. According to Assistant Chief Alan Smith with the Coweta County Fire Department, emergency personnel responded to find two pickup trucks involved and one lying on its left side.

According to the Georgia State Patrol trooper who worked the scene, the accident occurred when a Ford Ranger traveling south on Ga. Highway 85 made a left turn onto Hardy Road, pulling in the path of a Ford F-150 traveling northbound. The F-150 collided with the passenger’s side of the Ranger, causing the F-150 to flip on its driver’s side.

The driver of the F-150 suffered from minor injuries and was transported to Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Smith said. The driver of the Ranger did not suffer any injuries and was charged with failure to yield while turning left.
