Michael Eure Hanson, 36, the man suspected of shooting his neighbor near Senoia earlier this week, turned himself in at the Coweta County Jail around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office issued a lookout for Hanson on Wednesday. Hanson fled the area in a vehicle after the shooting, which occurred on Joy Springs Drive south of Senoia during an argument over a lawn mower, said Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough with the sheriff’s office. Investigators later found the vehicle, but not Hanson.

The victim suffered from a single gunshot wound to his left thigh, Yarbrough said. Hanson was considered armed and dangerous because he fled the scene with a .380 caliber handgun.

During the investigation, Coweta County investigators received a great deal of assistance from residents in the area and officers with the Senoia Police Department and Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, said Investigator Chad McDonald with the sheriff’s office. After Hanson turned himself in, he was charged with a felony for aggravated assault with a firearm.
