Coweta County Deputies End Cross-County Pursuit

The chase ended after the suspect vehicle ran off the road, lost control and overturned at least once.


A car chase which began in Fayette County ended Friday morning after the suspect vehicle wrecked on I-85 in Coweta County.

On Friday morning, after Peachtree City authorities broke off their pursuit when the chase crossed into Coweta County, deputies with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office located the fleeing vehicle on Highway 154, according to public safety radio traffic. Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, but the vehicle failed to stop and the chase continued onto I-85.

According to radio traffic, speeds reached nearly 100 mph as Coweta County deputies chased the two suspects in the vehicle. The chase ended after the suspect vehicle ran off the road, lost control and overturned at least once. The two suspects were taken into custody and treated by emergency medical personnel.
