Two injured in traffic accident near Moreland

Two were injured Friday in an accident involving a PT Cruiser and Mack truck at the intersection of Bexton/Cecil Hunter Road and Highway 54 near Moreland. Both the driver and passenger in PT Cruiser were transported to the Atlanta Medical Center. 

Two people were injured in a traffic accident Friday afternoon when their vehicle was hit in the side by a Mack rolloff truck near Moreland.

Around 12:15 p.m., a Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling west on Cecil Hunter Road and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 54, according to authorities with the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office. The vehicle then crossed over Highway 54 toward Bexton Road when a Mack truck, traveling south on Highway 54, struck the PT Cruiser in the passenger's side.

According to the state patrol, both the driver and passenger of the PT Cruiser were injured and transported to Atlanta Medical Center - the passenger was transported by helicopter ambulance, and the driver was transported by ground ambulance.
