Riverside Park, portions of state park, temporarily closed

Coweta County's Riverside Park, located at 4013 Hwy 16 W, and portions of Chattahoochee Bend State Park have been temporarily closed due to rising water levels in the Chattahoochee River.

This morning (December 23) the river had started to encroach on the boat ramp and forecasts are calling for higher water levels in the river due to recent rains, according to Coweta Communications Manager Tom Corker.

At Chattahoochee Bend, the day use area, River Trail, and both platform camping areas are closed due to river levels.

The areas will be reopened when conditions warrant.
