Pizzeria employee robbed at knifepoint

by Wes Mayer

Coweta County investigators are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect they say robbed a pizza delivery man Saturday.

Around 9 p.m., a man was robbed at knifepoint after discovering the home he was delivering a pizza to — on Paw Paw Lane off of Shenandoah Boulevard — was vacant, said Sgt. Jason Fetner with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect approached the delivery man wielding a stiletto or switchblade-style knife, Fetner said, and he ordered the victim to empty his pockets. The suspect then fled the area on foot with the victim’s wallet, $65 and the pizza.

According to Fetner, the suspect was described as a slim black male around six feet tall. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, red shorts and flip-flops. Investigators believe the suspect may live in one of the apartments off Forest Circle.

Investigators are offering a cash reward to anyone with information leading to the identification and arrest of the person who committed the robbery, Fetner said. Those with information may contact Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough or Sgt. Jason Fetner at the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office by calling 770-253-1502.
