Coweta County Commissioner Bob Blackburn, received a proclamation of appreciation from The Fayette County Board of Commissioners at the Fayette County Commissioners meeting on Thursday evening.

“This proclamation is in appreciation of hairman of the Commission Bob Blackburn. It was a real privilege to get to know and work with him. We could not let your term expire without saying some words of gratitude. What you have extended to us in friendship as a neighboring county, we have never seen anything like it so we decided we were going to recognize you,” said Steve Brown, Chairman of Fayette County.

The promotion commended Blackburn on his work to diligently build stronger ties with Fayette County and serving as a model of cooperation, support and hospitality in his dealings with Fayette County.

The proclamation concluded: “Now, therefore, we, the Fayette County Board of Commissioners hereby do proclaim our heartfelt appreciation for the leadership and friendship that Chairman Bob Blackburn has displayed towards Fayette County during his 2013 term, thanking him for taking the time to get to know each of us and creating a wonderful working relationship.”

“It’s been a pleasure to know these fine commissioners,” said Blackburn. “I appreciate their inclusion of God and the U.S. Constitution in every meeting. You’ve created a strong bond between Coweta and Fayette County. It’s been a pleasure working with you all and I believe it’s very important for both of our counties to carry on this relationship. I thank you for all the positive, forward motion we see in Fayette County. I accept this proclamation but must place credit to my fellow commissioners and hard working staff that stands behind me.”
