Newnan LCI meeting tonight from 6 to 8

by Sarah Fay Campbell

Newnan's second meeting for its Livable Centers Initiative study will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carnegie in downtown Newnan.

The LCI study focuses on downtown Newnan, the neighborhoods east of downtown, the area around the Coweta Justice Center, and the original Newnan Hospital area on Jackson Street.

Tonight's meeting will include a recap of the progress so far, a series of mapping exercises for the neighborhoods and downtown buildings, including building character and housing type, and a prioritization exercise on neighborhood improvements. Each meeting will build off the previous meetings, said Newnan Planning Director Tracy Dunnavant.

The study is designed to find "what do we need, what do we want, what are we lacking," Dunnavant said.
