You can tune in to 106.9 FM to listen to the Walkers’ Christmas light show synchronized to music at their home on 6 Patriot Way.

If you are interested in checking out Christmas light displays put on by your friendly neighborhood Cowetans, be sure to check Avery Park off U.S. Highway 29 North.

The Walkers, who live on 6 Patriot Lane off The Boulevard, have their Christmas light show synchronized to music. This is the first year the Walkers have put on their own Christmas show, and they set up a similar lights show this year for Halloween.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” said Todd Walker, who set up the show with his wife. “We started the process about three or four years ago for the grandchildren.”

Walker said they have set up a show with about 40,000 lights synchronized to seven songs with some fun voice-overs mixed in between. They also have a small FM transmitter, Walker said, and visitors can tune in to 106.9 to listen to the 24-minute show.

The Walkers have been working on their show with the help of fellow light show enthusiasts like Loren Yarbrough, who has his show set up at his home on 205 Brittain Way. Because the two share the same hobby, Walker said he and Yarbrough got to know each other while working on their projects.

“I’m fairly new to the light show community,” Walker said. “But we help each other out, and it’s a good little community.”

Walker said his show took around three days to set up, with the help of his stepson and son-in-law. Their home has a smaller yard than the Yarbroughs, Walker said, but they are the only home on their street.

The show went up last week, and the Walkers plan to have it running until New Year’s Day. The show will be playing Sunday to Thursday from around 5:30 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from dark to 11 p.m.

For more information, videos of the show or directions to the Walkers’ home, visit their website, listen2thelights.com. Walker said their home address may be hard to find with a GPS, so if using one, he suggested putting in 233 The Boulevard to find Patriot Lane.

(In the weeks leading up to Christmas, The Newnan Times-Herald will be featuring local light displays. If you have a light display you are proud of, contact Wes Mayer at the Times-Herald office at 770-253-1576, Extension 724 or email him at wesley@newnan.com . We ask that you not contact us about a friend or neighbor because we want to have permission from the owner of the display. Some people may not want theirs in the newspaper.)
