A man was arrested for possession of various drugs Wednesday after the woman who was giving him a ride was pulled over for speeding, according to Coweta authorities.

Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Investigator Jeff Bugg with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office pulled over a woman for speeding on Newnan bypass near Georgia Highway 16, said Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough with the sheriff's office. However, it turned out to be the passenger, Robert William Wright, 32, who was arrested.

According to Yarbrough, the female driver did not know Wright, and was only giving him a ride to Tyrone.

When Bugg asked if he could search the vehicle, the driver gave consent, and Bugg discovered multiple different types of drugs in Wright's possession, Yarbrough said. Bugg found seven grams of methamphetamine in a plastic bag, 1.5 ounces of marijuana in plastic bottles along with 100 capsules of 'Molly' - a combination drug of cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, meth and bath salts, Yarbrough said. Bugg also found a grinder and a digital scale in Wright's possession, Yarbrough said.

Wright claimed possession for all the drugs, Yarbrough said, and he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule 1 narcotic, Molly, with intent to distribute. Wright was transported to the Coweta County Jail, and the female driver was released with a warning for speeding, Yarbrough said.
