Harvest Christian Bookstores Close Their Doors
by Clay Neely
Owners of Harvest Christian Bookstores on Newnan’s Court Square have emptied their shelves and chained their doors shut today, less than two months since their grand opening in September.
Patrick Mims, co-owner of Harvest Christian Bookstores, expressed his sadness in the events.
“Lack of business is the reason,” said Mims. “We had the foot traffic but just not the sales needed to cover overhead. Being downtown comes with a price and without sales those costs could no longer be covered. Both owners still worked full-time as this was a ministry not a paycheck.”
Mims continued, “It saddens us to have to close because we made so many friendships. We did the best we could. Sales have to happen. Without sales , you cannot stay open. We thank each and every one that supported this venture. It has been a blessing. Learned a lot also.”
Mims stated that the website will remain open and that he will be adding an e-store in the future.
