Senoia theft ring suspect arrested
by Wes MayerA Senoia man wanted for theft was arrested Wednesday at his girlfriend's home in Newnan.
Marvin 'Cookie' Bridges Jr., 46, was arrested by Newnan Police Department officers in his girlfriend's home in the Westgate neighborhood, said Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office. Bridges was charged with multiple counts of theft by receiving, Yarbrough said, for the operation he ran out of his home on 93 Deep South Road in Senoia.
On Aug. 19, investigators with the sheriff's office found Bridges' home after the arrest of a Pepsi machine theft suspect, William David Thompson. Investigators found Bridges' home filled with stolen objects, including a second Pepsi machine, firearms, cell phones, laptop computers, generators, antique coins and more, Yarbrough said. According to Yarbrough, Bridges was apparently nicknamed 'Cookie' because he would pay for the stolen items with his homemade cocaine cookies.
Bridges was not found in his home in August, and has been hiding from authorities since then. On Wednesday, he was arrested without incident, charged with six counts of theft by receiving and for failing to appear in court, and he was transported to the Coweta County Jail.
