DOT schedules guardrail repairs in Coweta
Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation have scheduled lane and shoulder closures for guardrail repairs in Coweta and Monroe County this week. The work is scheduled at various times on Wednesday, Oct. 30, weather permitting, along I-85 southbound in Coweta County and I-75 southbound in Monroe County. In Coweta the work will be on I-85 southbound near Grantville at mile marker 34. It will be done Wednesday between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. This is near Exit 35. One right lane of the three southbound lanes will be closed. In Monroe County the work is on I-75 southbound between mile markers 176 and 175, and will be from midnight, Wednesday, Oct. 30, until 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, near Exit 175 (Pate Road). One left lane of two will be closed.
Crews will be working in half mile to 1-mile increments and relocating frequently. Motorists should be alert to changing work patterns, said Kimberly Larson Georgia DOT communications officer with the regional office.
