Both men in Westgate fight now in custody
Both men involved in a recent altercation involving a stabbing and shot fired in Newnan’s Westgate neighborhood now have been charged with aggravated assault.
Curtis Cardell Rosser, 24, was arrested in his home on the 100-block of Highland Park Thursday, said Sgt. Beatrice Bugg with the Newnan Police Department. Police arrived at his home with a warrant for his arrest, and he fled out the back door. He fell into some mud, though, Bugg said, and he was taken into custody.
Rosser was charged for shooting at Heavenly Tywon Mitchell, 22, missing him, Bugg said. Mitchell was charged Wednesday for stabbing Rosser twice in the chest area with a small pocket knife — Rosser was not badly injured. Both men are considered aggressors and victims in this case.
According to Bugg, both men also had outstanding warrants for their arrest. Rosser was additionally charged with forgery in the first degree and Mitchell was charged with a violation of probation.
