Armed man making threats arrested in PTC

A Peachtree City man, who authorities said was armed and making threats in his home, was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Peachtree City Police Department, at around 11:30 a.m. officers arrived at the man’s home on 130 Morallion Hills Road in response to a call regarding an armed and emotionally disturbed person making threats. After initial responding officers failed to make contact with the man, the police department brought in its Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Team, a spokesman said.
Around 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. after negotiations, the man was taken into custody. According to Lt. Mark Brown with the Peachtree City Police Department, the man was armed with a pistol and has a complicated medical disease. Details on the man’s identity and condition were not released, but he was transported to a hospital for treatment, according to Brown.
