The Fayetteville Police Department is requesting help in locating a man suspected of robbery.

According to a press release, the man has been identified by video footage as Marquis Raphiel Jackson, 20. He is suspected of stealing a woman’s purse Wednesday after she got into her vehicle at the AT&T store on 117 Pavilion Parkway. The victim told officers the robbery occurred around 2:38 p.m. and the suspect fled in a red Dodge Grand Caravan with two other suspects.

Witnesses were able to give officers the suspect’s license plate number, and the vehicle was later found in the Home Depot parking lot. The two other suspects were found and taken into custody, but Jackson fled on foot. He was later sighted around Roberts Road and fled into a wooded area.

Police chased him on foot into the wooded area and searched for him throughout the night and early this morning, but he eluded capture, according to the press release.

Jackson is described as 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. and was last seen wearing blue shorts and a white shirt. He is believed to still be in the wooded area between Highway 134 and Highway 85 north of the Fayette Pavillion.

According to the press release, Jackson will be charged with robbery by sudden snatching, and any information regarding his whereabouts should be given to the Fayetteville Police Department at (770) 461-4441.
