Coty running for reelection

Selma Coty is running for re-election to Post 3 on the Grantville City Council in the Nov. 5 election.
Coty is a native of Carroll County, Ga., and has lived in Grantville since 1980. She has served on the city council since 2009 and also from 1990 to 1993. From 1991 to 1992, she was the Interim Mayor for Grantville.
Her campaign platform is building a better community. Coty says she will do that by:
“•Rebuilding the trust of all of our community in their elected officials,
•Supporting the efforts and recommendations of our boards and commissions (especially the Skateboard Project on Griffin St.),
•Supporting and valuing our employees,
•Continuing to work on improving our accounting systems and audits to ensure timely and accurate reporting to state agencies,
•Initiating grant applications that will help to improve housing in Grantville •Encouraging home ownership,
•Working for progress by initiating projects to improve our reputation and image,
•Listening to citizens concerns and suggestions.”
“I am only one vote, you are the voice,” said Coty. “Speak with your vote on Nov. 5, 2013.”
