-- A public hearing on Coweta County's Fiscal Year 2014 budget is on the agenda for Thursday night's meeting of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners. The Herring Road speed limit is also on agenda.
-- Coweta County Board of Education is holding a Whole Board Training Session Thursday afternoon, followed by a budget meeting. The training session will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 237 Jackson St. and will be followed by a Budget Committee meeting until 8:30.

-- Georgia’s ports continue to have a major economic impact in Coweta County. The ports in Savannah and Brunswick recently experienced a record monthly level of cargo. The Georgia Ports Authority moved 2.4 million tons of cargo in April, a 4.7 percent increase — or 108,532 tons — over the same month in 2012.
