Cosby running for seat on Newnan Council

Newnan resident Scott Cosby has announced his intent to qualify to run for Newnan City Council in the November municipal elections.
He will be seeking the District 001, Post B, the new seventh seat created for city council in the recent redistricting.
Cosby, his wife Patti, and his two children — Austin and Madison — have lived in Newnan for the past 10 years. In that time, he has been involved in the community.
“Wherever I lived or worked, I was always serving the community in some capacity,” he said. “I see it as a civic duty and am passionate about our community and ensuring we are always improving. I’m passionate about this area. I love it here.”
Cosby is a Realtor with Better Homes & Gardens Metro Brokers and was chosen as Realtor of the Year in 2010. He is also a graduate of the Newnan Citizen’s Academy and has volunteered on many boards and organizations throughout the community, including the HOA Board of Directors for both the Lakes of White Oak and SummerGrove.
Enhancement of property values and additional things being brought to the community are important to Cosby and will be a focus of his campaign.
“We always need to look ahead,” he said. “Your responsibility is to do your due diligence and look at how we can grow Newnan in a positive way.”
“I strongly support the city of Newnan in their continued quest for further economic development in Newnan and Coweta County,” he added.
Cosby and his family live in SummerGrove. Both his children attend school in Coweta County. Austin is a sophomore at East Coweta High School, and Madison is in eighth grade at Lee Middle School.
