Rezoning requests on Tuesday agenda

There will be public hearings for four rezoning proposals at Tuesday's meeting of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners.
The proposals are as follows: a special use permit for an events center for Daniel Holl Jr. at Four Oaks Farm on Chandler Road and Smokey Road, a special use permit for a private flying club for Kevin Wendelberg’s WeFly Inc., a request for rezoning from M-Industrial to R-2 on property near Dingler Road and Cline Road, a request for a Multi-Family Residential District for 24 acres on Hollz Parkway for EP Properties and Hollz Village Apartments, and a rezoning from RC Rural Conservation to R-2, Multi-Family Residential for 30 acres on Hollz Parkway for JHP Family Investments and Powell Senior Village.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be held in the county commission chambers on Perry Street in Newnan.
There will also be a public hearing on the millage rate.
The Four Oaks Farm rezoning request is for a five-acre tract to be used as an events center for weddings, receptions, corporate events, and charitable or community events. The property is part of a 78-acre tract owned by the applicant. Some neighbors have expressed disapproval of the proposal, posting large signs that read "stop the vote to rezone and commercialize our neighborhood."
Kevin Wendelberg's 151 acres is home to a private airstrip. The request is to add a private flying club. The proposal includes the addition of a pavilion, a clubhouse and 10 hangers.
The planning department is recommending approval, with conditions.
The Hollz Village request is for 24 acres adjoining the northern property line of the GRTA park and ride lot. The proposal is for a 265-unit apartment complex with a clubhouse and pool, and volleyball, tennis and basketball courts. The planning department is recommending approval, with conditions.
The Powell Senior Village rezoning includes a request for 30 acres adjoining the Chatsworth subdivision and the previously-rezoned property of Newnan Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.
The proposal is for a 48,000-square-foot "continuing care retirement community" with single-family dwellings for independent living, assisted living and hospice care.
The board will also hear a request for a conditional use permit for the assisted living facility.
Other items to come before the board include:
• A request by Brent Holdings LLC for a septic system variance for properties in the Summerfield subdivision.
• A request from the Church of Latter Day Saints to amend condition 12 of a conditional use permit.
• Execution of a contract for commercial/industrial re-valuation.
• A public hearing on a new package beer and wine license for Arvindbhai Patel of Neighbor's Grocery Store, 540 South Hwy. 29.
