The SouthCrest Bank in Luthersville was robbed Friday afternoon by two armed suspects.

The Luthersville Police Department and Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached for comment, but Newnan Police Department’s Buster Meadows said that Newnan officers were sent to the south edge of town in case the robbers fled north into Coweta County.

The suspects, two black men, both with trim builds, robbed the bank about 1:15 p.m. and left on foot on Opal Street after the robbery. Police reported looking for a maroon vehicle that may have been the suspects’ vehicle.

Additionally, Troup County Crime Stoppers released a BOLO Friday offering a $1,500 reward for any information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed the Hog Heaven barbeque restaurant on 2240 West Point Road in LaGrange on Thursday, July 25.

Video footage of the robbery can be seen on the Troup County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page. Anyone with information should call the Luthersville Police Department at 770-927-6540 or the Meriwether County 911 Center at 706-672-1569.
