With only a week and a half left until the beginning of school for Coweta youngsters, Newnan city officials are reminding everyone that Willie Lynch Park pool is still open for business.

The entry fee is only $2 and the pool is open daily until Labor Day. “We encourage citizens to come use and enjoy the city pool. It is beautiful and has a waterslide, mushroom water feature and splash fountain for the much younger children to enjoy,” said Gina Snider, Newnan city public information officer. The pool contains 4,200 square feet of water, a 42-foot-wide zero entry, a mushroom water feature near the zero entry, four lanes for recreational lap swimming, a dedicated catch pool for the 75-foot water slide, a splash fountain for the kids, and several tables and shade umbrellas for the adults.

Funding for the pool was provided by the 2007 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. The pool is located at 23 Richard Allen Drive and Wesley Streets adjacent to Willie Lynch Park.

The pool is operated for the city by staff of the Coweta County Recreation Department. For more information on exact pool hours and swim lessons, visit www.cityofnewnan.org or www.coweta.ga.us .
