Six candidates speak out on issues

Transportation funding, hospital “bed tax” and charter schools were among issues brought before candidates for Georgia House District 71 Thursday.
Six candidates will be on the ballot for the Feb. 5 special election to fill the District 71 seat, which covers most of eastern Coweta County and part of Peachtree City: Democrat Cynthia Conradt Bennett, 57, an educator, and five Republicans: general contractor Thomas G. Crymes, 45; U.S. Army retiree Michael Farbo Jr., 57; attorney Darryl Marmon, 48; business owner David J. Stover, 41; and real estate broker Richard Weisser, 59.
