Piedmont Healthcare will be revealing community health needs at upcoming town hall meetings, including one on Feb. 19 at Central Educational Center in Newnan.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at CEC, 160 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
“We’ll be revealing health needs specific to Coweta County and the surrounding areas such as diabetes, obesity, access to care, appropriate use of the ER and more,” said Amanda Bartlett, Piedmont Healthcare spokesperson.
Piedmont Healthcare will be holding a series of town hall meetings in the coming weeks in the areas surrounding each of the Piedmont-affiliated hospitals throughout Georgia. Results from recent community health needs assessments specific to each hospital’s community will be discussed.
“It is important to know where our communities stand in terms of health needs,” said Holly Lang, director of community benefit at Piedmont Healthcare. “By sharing our findings with the public and developing programs to address these needs, together we’ll be able to tackle these issues and make our communities healthier.”

In addition to sharing the findings of the recent community health needs assessments, representatives from Piedmont will discuss future health programs to address the identified health needs for each community.

“Our assessments show there is a wide variety of health issues to address,” said Lang. “The most common issues include access to care, obesity, preventable hospital readmissions, diabetes and heart disease. Now, we need to work as a community to proactively address these shared concerns.”

The town hall meeting Feb. 19 at CEC is open to the public.

Those looking to attend and participate in the community health needs discussion should reserve seats by calling 678-842-6131.

Piedmont officials ask that those planning to attend specify if special auxiliary needs are required such as interpreters so arrangements can be made.
