The Newnan Utilities water reservoirs are at 80 percent capacity and are expected to be full by the end of February if normal winter rains fall.
The reservoir report was given by Newnan Utilities Director of Water Operations Brandon Lovett at Friday’s meeting of Newnan Water, Sewerage and Light Commission.
Lovett also reported that regular maintenance was progressing as scheduled on rights-of-way and all scheduled work on treatment plants is under way.
Director of Engineering Ed Strong presented for renewal an existing intergovernmental agreement between Newnan Utilities and Electric Cities of Georgia.
The contract was approved for three years with a two-year extension period, if agreed.

It was also reported that a contract in the amount of $1,654,054 has been awarded to Newnan-based Headley Construction for completion of work on the utility’s warehouse.

Jeff Phillips provided the administrative report. He reported that internal accounting has been completed for the previous year and work has begun to provide information to auditors. Phillips said all financial goals for the previous year had been met or exceeded.

Philips also presented the water and light commission with a 2013 revenue budget of $49,418,292.

The budget was unanimously approved.
