Three suspects believed to be responsible for breaking into vehicles in a church parking lot in Peachtree City were arrested in Coweta County Wednesday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., Peachtree City Police Department received information about a vehicle involved during several entering auto incidents at the New Hope Baptist Church on Highway 74 South, said Lt. Mark Brown with the police department’s Office of Professional Standards. Shortly after the lookout was placed on the vehicle, a Peachtree City motorcycle officer was able to locate the vehicle in traffic at the intersection of Highway 74 and Highway 54, Brown said.
According to Brown, when the motorcycle officer caught up to the suspects and attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle took off. The three suspects in the vehicle were chased by law enforcement officers with the Peachtree City Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office until they were stopped near the NCG Cinema theater at 55 Fischer Rd.
The suspects were turned over to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and are in the process of being positively identified, Brown said. Multiple felony entering auto charges are pending along with multiple traffic violations, Brown said.
