The Town of Sharpsburg will hold a public hearing on Jan. 7 to consider rezoning a 2.033-acre parcel of land at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Ga. Hwy. 54 within the Sharpsburg town limits.
The parcel is currently zoned RH1. The proposed rezoning would put the property in zoning classification THC.
West Point-based CharterBank is shown as the property owner on Coweta County Tax records. The current appraised value of the parcel is $43,028. As of Friday, Dec. 28, the Coweta County tax assessors website showed a tax bill of $419.80 due on Dec. 3, 2012 had not been paid.
The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. at the Sharpsburg Recreation Center at 105 Main St., Sharpsburg.
