The Marine Corps Toys For Tots program continues in Coweta and Fayette counties for two more weekends.
The Marines will be at the Walmart stores in Newnan, Peachtree City and Fayetteville, at the Newnan Big Lots and at the Fayetteville Toys R Us for two more weekends — Dec. 8-9 and Dec. 15-16, said spokesperson Randy Gaddo.
They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys or donations.
The toys collected will be distributed to children in need in Coweta and Fayette counties as well as help support the national Toys for Tots program, Gaddo said.
“Marines and the children who will benefit from this effort appreciate any help you can provide,” Gaddo said. “We are especially looking for toys for youth age 9 to 13.”
Local Marine Corps League members also joined the family of Mike and Gwen Gaddy recently at a collection effort. Each year the Gaddys decorate their property and allow public viewing at Christmas. “This has been a major Toys For Tots drop-off point for the past several years,” Gaddo said.
