Coweta County authorities are asking the public’s help in identifying four suspects believed to have illegally charged about $8,000 in gift cards and merchandise.
Two male suspects distracted a woman shopping at a grocery store and stole her wallet from her purse, according to a lookout issued by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on Nov. 17.
“Shortly thereafter, all four of the offenders used the victim’s stolen financial transaction cards to purchase nearly $8,000 worth of gift cards and electronics from the Peachtree City Target, a Peachtree City CVS and a Target in Phenix City, Ala., the release said.
Investigators believe the suspects’ vehicle is a late-model silver Jeep Commander SUV, or one of similar design. The suspects are wanted on various charges, including identification fraud, theft by taking, financial transaction card fraud and theft.
Anyone with information should contact the Coweta County Sheriff’s office at 770-253-1502 and ask for Investigator Jason Fetner.
