Widened sections of bypass open, but still not finished

It’s been more than a month now since all lanes opened to traffic on the widened section of the Highway 34 Bypass.
But the project between Bullsboro Drive and the Carrollton Highway is still not totally complete, and the contractor, Sunbelt Structures, is still being fined $1,000 a day for not getting the project done on time. Those fines began on Jan. 28, 2012.
