Citizen of Year deadline is Dec. 14

It is time to nominate that individual you would like to be named Coweta Citizen of the Year for 2013.
The Selection Committee is anxious to receive applications for this prestigious title in written form.
The public is encouraged to nominate individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and citizenship within the community, as well as those who have demonstrated exemplary vision, civic pride and a strong commitment to a better Coweta.
The nominee should live in Coweta County and his/her activities should be centered in Coweta County and the surrounding area. Selection will be based upon leadership and performance in multiple areas of community service over a period of years. It may be an individual from any walk of life, and there are no requirements or restrictions relating to gender, age, race, religion or ethnic origin.
Nomination information and the application forms are available at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber, 23 Bullsboro Dr., 770-253-2270, and on the Chamber’s website at www.newnancowetachamber.org. Nominations must be returned to The Chamber by Dec. 14, 2012 via mail, email to: info@newnancowetachamber.org or fax – 770-253-2271.

The 2013 Citizen of the Year Gala Reception is planned for Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at the Coweta County Fairgrounds at 275 Pine Rd. The event is being hosted by the four Kiwanis Clubs in Coweta County, including Newnan, White Oak Golden K, Coweta County and Grantville.

Tickets are $25 for a Gala Dinner Buffet beginning at 6:30 p.m., with an opportunity to greet all of the nominees preceding the grand announcement of Coweta’s 2013 Citizen of the Year. To purchase a table for eight (8 tickets/$200), call 770-253-7147. Tables may be purchased until Jan. 24, 2013.

Individual tickets may be purchased at Scott’s Bookstore on the Court Square in Newnan, the Newnan-Coweta Chamber office on Bullsboro Drive at Farmer Street, SouthTowne Motors on Bullsboro near I-85 and from any Coweta County Kiwanis Club. Individual tickets may be purchased through Jan. 31.
