Banks named emeritus trustee for Georgia Trust

Coweta County resident William N. Banks has been named an emeritus trustee of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
Banks is a playwright, author and expert on antique furniture and architecture. The Georgia Trust elected an inaugural group of emeritus trustees earlier this year.
The group is comprised of former trustees who have “served the corporation with distinction and great dedication in his or her service as a trustee.” The board selected 22 outstanding former trustees to receive the honorary title.
Each emeritus trustee is an active business and community leader who displays commitment and hard work on behalf of historic preservation.
Banks is the owner and steward of the renowned Bankshaven estate south of Newnan. A longtime member and generous supporter of the Georgia Trust, Banks’ gift helped to establish the Statewide Office Endowment Fund in 1992.
He has been a patron to numerous trust events, including the annual Preservation Gala.
Founded in 1973, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation is one of the country’s largest statewide, non-profit preservation organizations.
