Grantville City Council bickers again, rejects police request
By JOHN A. WINTERSjohn@newnan.com
Grantville City Council has denied a request to add a police officer to the city’s police department but did add $10,000 to the recreation budget.
Although the request for the additional officer died for lack of a second to the motion at Monday’s meeting, council did approve new bulletproof vests and radars for the department. Both those items were unanimous votes, but from there things got personal over debates on whether the mayor must notify members if he was going to miss a meeting and whether skateboards should be allowed on city sidewalks.
