An unoccupied single-family residence was significantly damaged during a Wednesday afternoon fire.
Coweta County Fire Department personnel responded to the house at 20 Deering Circle off Ishman Ballard Road about 1:30 p.m., said Captain Craig Sherrer. The fire started in a bedroom of the approximately 900-square-foot house and about half of the home received damage.
Several units responded and the fire was quickly put out, although firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof for ventilation.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
