Newnan Citizen Academy graduates recognized

Recent graduates of the eighth annual Newnan Citizen Academy were recognized recently for their involvement by the Newnan City Council.
The academy is a series of classes for citizens to educate and inform the citizens of Newnan about every aspect of city government. The course is an intensive, hands-on program on how city departments operate and how critical decisions are made that affect the quality of life in Newnan.
Attendees were able to tour city facilities and hear directly from department managers, professional staff, and elected officials. The program is led by Gina Snider, the city’s public information officer.
Classes for the six-week program included various locations and departments such as the city’s police and fire departments, public works, building inspection, planning and zoning, business development, Main Street Newnan and other agencies.
The latest class graduates were: Barbara Berlin, Georgina Boesing, Haus Boesing, Karen Bowen, Bernice Cameron, Elizabeth Dillon, Daniel Goodman, Scott Haskin, Heather Haskin, Patricia Haun, Barry Hunter, Linda Hunter, Evette M. Mills, Debbie Mullins, Art Polk, Steve St. Laurent, Justine Stewart, Chuck Walker, Rush Wyatt, Yvonne Wyatt and Philip Zalewski.
