Grantville City Council strips mayor's power to hire attorney

After months of hinting at plans for a major overhaul of the town charter, the Grantville City Council voted Monday to expand its control over city business.
With council member Rochelle Jabaley opposing, the council approved an amendment to Article III, Section 3.05, effectively transferring authority to hire Grantville’s attorney from mayor to the full council.
