Two drivers miraculously escaped serious injury after nearly colliding head-on in a Friday afternoon crash on Fischer Road in north Coweta County.
The accident occurred after the driver of a northbound Dodge pickup truck over corrected and then hit the left rear corner panel of a southbound Dodge pickup, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Senior Class Kelvin Searcy. The impact caused both vehicles to go down an embankment where they rolled and overturned before coming to a rest.
The southbound truck stopped from its roll upside down and the northbound truck ended up on its side.
There were no other passengers involved in the accident, which happened around 4 p.m. on Fischer Road between Raymond Hill Road and Northgate High School, the trooper said.
The names of the drivers were not immediately available. Searcy said the investigation is continuing and charges "were pending."
