There will be art demonstrations and colorful offerings tonight as Main Street Newnan presents its Fall Art Walk event in downtown.
The free event runs 5 - 8 p.m. around the Court Square and nearby business areas. Artists from Newnan and the surrounding area will have their masterpieces on display in 20 downtown locations.
Main Street Newnan ushers in the fall event season with its annual Fall Art Walk. Fall officially arrives Saturday around 11:30 a.m.
Artists will be available to answer questions, and discuss their technique, said Main Street Manager JoAnn Gentry.
Event maps, refreshments and entertainment will be available at various locations.
Participating artists in this year’s event will feature a wide variety of mediums. Everything from oil on canvass to engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry-making and acrylics will be featured.
As an added benefit, Musicology is partnering with Main Street Newnan to feature several performing arts groups, which will be set up and playing in various locations.

Corinne Galla, owner and operator of Farrago Gallery, recently noted that the Fall Art Walk makes Newnan a “true art destination.”

A variety of downtown Newnan shops are hosting the finest local artists for a fun family night of art browsing, refreshments and, “of course, shopping and dining,” she said.

She noted that the Fall Art Walk is a chance to mingle with the crowd and perhaps “find a treasure to treasure forever!”

Added Gentry, “I encourage everyone to visit historic downtown Newnanâ ¦ meet and enjoy some of the Southeast’s finest artists, browse through our unique shops and have dinner at one of our delectable restaurants.”
