Reed to be on panel for legislative forum

Newnan resident Lawrence W. Reed will be among the panelists at the annual Georgia Legislative Policy Forum.
The event is sponsored each year by the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute and the Georgia Public Policy Foundation. This year’s event will spotlight health care reform, options in education, the innovation economy and plans for transportation following rejection of a regional transportation tax in most areas of the state.
Reed is president of the Foundation for Economic Education and a regular Times-Herald columnist. Other panelist include Jan Jones, Grace-Marie Turner, Dr. Joanna Bailey, Carter Burton, Jake Hodesh, Glenn McGonnigle, Rick Ogston, Gerard Robinson and Brooke Rollins.
Jones is speaker pro-tempore of the Georgia House of Representatives. Turner is founder and president of the Galen Institute.
Bailey teaches at Emory University School of Law. Burton is president of Spine360 in Austin, and Hodesh is executive director of The Creative Coast in Savannah.
McGonnigle is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist specialist. Rollins is president and CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation .

Robinson formerly served as commissioner of education in Florida, and Ogston is founder and CEO of Carpe Diem Schools.

The forum will be Sept. 21 at 8 a.m. at W Atlanta - Midtown, 188 14th Street NE, Atlanta. Tickets are $100, and online registration is available at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=gppf&id=4 .

This will be the third year for CPLI and GPPF to sponsor the forum.
