The dreaded dead or undead, whichever term you favor, are crashing into Grantville.
Scenes for AMC’s zombie show “The Walking Dead” were filmed on Main Street in Grantville Tuesday and later at the southwest Coweta town’s historic Depot. Crews were out of town on Monday and part of Tuesday morning filming on Coweta-Heard Road.
“We will be filming on Main Street and at 16 Main Street,” said location manager Michael Riley. “Grantville will remain dressed over the weekend, Saturday, Sunday, Sept. 15, 16, and we will return on Monday, Sept. 17 to the Depot for the majority of the day and a final scene will take place on Main Street in front of 16 Main Street.”
Between Sept. 18-20, Riley said crews will be taking down sets and equipment.
“Everything should be back to normal by the end of the day (Sept. 20) if not sooner,” he said.
