Coweta County Superintendent of Schools Steve Barker will speak at the Coweta Association of Retired Educators (CARE) meeting Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Coweta County School System's Werz Industrial Blvd. offices.
Barker will overview the CCSS and talk about the state's charter school amendment. Refreshments will be served following the program.
Carol Thrower, president of CARE, said the organization's plans for this year – including a display at the upcoming Coweta County Fair – will be discussed at the meeting. An optional food drive will be ongoing as well.
All local retired educators, as well as those who have retired from other counties or states, are invited to join CARE. For more information, contact Thrower at 770-251-5001.
