Grantville Day Crosstie Festival, coming up Sept. 22, is expecting some big name talent.
“Besides honoring veterans from all military branches and a special tribute to Vietnam veterans’ 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, a motorcycle benefit ride for Wounded Warriors, and a canathon for local food banks, there is big news for the Grantville Day Crosstie Festival,” said Sandra Luttrell, director. “The Shbossboys that performed on America’s Got Talent and was voted on to Hollywood will be performing at 4:30 p.m.,” she said.
The Regulars Band, which has performed at the Macy’s Christmas Celebration and has performed on television, will be the main band for the 6 p.m. street dance, she added. Charles Durrough, who has been inducted in the Country Hall of Fame in Atlanta, is performing at 3:30 p.m. Elvis Carden, well-known singer-song writer, performs at 3 p.m.
“We have other great musicians scheduled throughout the day. The festival this year is a huge family oriented event with arts/crafts, games, rides, raffles, and a wide selection of foods. What other event has such great entertainment every year with free admission?”
The Grantville event runs 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
The motorcycle benefit ride for Wounded Warriors is 11 a.m. and there will be a parade at 1 p.m. The day ends with the street dance at 6 p.m.
